Two pet lambs from Hazel Brow farm in Swaledale were guests of honour at an unusual ‘Lambing Service’ held this month in Leyburn.
To celebrate the county hosting the Grand Départ in 2014 the fields of Yorkshire will be recreated in the Artisan section of the famous show with flashing cyclists speeding through its landscape.
The final preparations are under way for the inaugural Dales Festival of Art- a sibling event to The Dales Festival of Food and Drink running over the Bank Holiday weekend May 4th – 6th, 10am – 5pm. The event is a celebration of the creative industries and activities of The Dales, admission is free.
Each day there will be ten mini original artworks by the professional artists from the Artists Market hidden in shops and cafes for you to find and keep. Some of Leyburn’s businesses have joined in too with different offers exclusively for the weekend- see the map and flyer available throughout Leyburn, for details of what is on where and when.
The final of four lead-in workshops will take place on Wednesday 24th April 1.30pm-3.00pm in theresidents lounge of Thornborough Hall Gardens, Supported Housing Centre, Moor Road , Leyburn. The workshopshave been facilitated by The Pop-Up Gallery and supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and Richmondshire District Council.
