Tour De France sheep auction raises £450 for local causes
07 November 2014 16:15
This month, four individuals can have the chance to own one of the world famous TDF sheep previously displayed at The Black Swan in Leyburn. This is a ewe-nique opportunity to grab a baa-gain and own a piece of Tour De France memorabilia.
These 4 amazing 5 foot high sheep are now being auctioned for local charitable causes following the success of the Tour de France coming to Wensleydale.
Each sheep is made from plywood with a mounting bracket at the rear. For obvious reasons they cannot be posted and all successful bidders will need to arrange for them to be collected from Leyburn in North Yorkshire.
Whilst being sold individually the total proceeds will be shared between the following local organisations.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance http://www.yorkshireairambulance.org.uk/
Swaledale Mountain Rescue http://www.swaledalemrt.org.uk/
Leyburn First Responders https://www.facebook.com/Leyburnresponders
Lower Wensleydale Youth Project https://www.facebook.com/LowerWensleydaleYouthProject

Owner of the Black Swan pub, John Begley said “It’s great that these icons of the Le Grand Depart can now be enjoyed by others whilst benefitting local causes at the same time”.
